This Dumbarton 2000 was selected by the independent bottler Watt Whisky. This Single Grain Whisky matured for no less than 21 years in a barrel and was bottled in 2022 at a powerful 57.1% ABV. The edition is limited to only 222 bottles.

Dumbarton was a Scottish grain distillery that has since closed, meaning whisky from this distillery is no longer being produced. Older independent bottlings like this one therefore represent an interesting piece of Scottish whisky history.

The long maturation of 21 years gives the grain distillate plenty of time to meld with the influences of the cask. The result is a mature Single Grain where the combination of long maturation, high alcohol strength, and the limited edition is central.

With its 57.1% ABV, this is a robust bottling that can also be excellently explored with a few drops of water.
