Watt Whisky Dumbarton 2000 – 22 Year Old – 55.5%

This Dumbarton 2000 is a Single Grain Scotch Whisky, selected by independent bottler Watt Whisky. The whisky was aged for no less than 22 years in a Hogshead and bottled in 2023 at 55.5% vol. The edition is limited to only 204 bottles.

On the nose, it is creamy and sweet, with notes of banana, vanilla, honey, and caramel, complemented by white chocolate, marzipan, and a fresh touch of lemon. As it sits in the glass longer, the sweet and woody aromas become more pronounced.

The palate opens soft and sweet, followed by vanilla, popcorn, caramel, and walnut. Dried fruit, light spices, and oak also emerge. The high strength provides extra zest, while the long maturation brings a nice balance between creamy sweetness and drier wood tones.

The finish is short to medium, slightly dry and creamy, with lingering sweet grain notes and oak.

This Dumbarton was bottled as a Single Cask and at Cask Strength, with no added coloring and non-chill filtered.
