Amrut Kadhambam ( 2019 )
Amrut Kadhambam
Single Malt Whisky | India
The Amrut Kadhambam is one of the most layered and characterful expressions in the Amrut range. The name Kadhambam literally means "blend" or "fusion" and refers to its complex maturation in three different cask types :
rum barrels, sherry barrels and brandy barrels .
The whisky matures in the warm Indian climate, where evaporation and interaction with the wood are particularly intense. This creates a full, mature style at a relatively young age. The various casks are carefully blended into a harmonious whole, without any one component dominating.
The nose reveals dark sugar, raisins, dried figs, rum notes, and candied orange , followed by spices and wood. The palate is rich and oily: molasses, sherry sweetness, cloves, cocoa, nuts, and a gentle alcohol warmth . Thanks to the 50% alcohol content, everything remains powerful yet perfectly balanced. The finish is long, warm, and complex , with lingering sweet-spicy notes.
This is a whisky for the connoisseur who seeks depth and layering , and one of the bottles that definitively put Amrut on the world map.
