Arran The Amarone Cask Finish – 50% – 70 cl

The Arran The Amarone Cask Finish is a characterful Scotch single malt whisky from the Arran distillery on the Isle of Arran. This special expression is part of the Cask Finishes series and received an additional maturation period in casks previously used for Amarone, a rich and powerful red wine from the Valpolicella region of Italy.

The Amarone casks give the whisky a distinctively fruity and refined character. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruits, cherries, plums, and vanilla, complemented by subtle hints of spice and oak. The palate is full and soft, with notes of red fruit, dried fruits, honey, dark chocolate, and a pleasant spiciness. The finish is warming and fruity, with an elegant combination of wine influences and soft woody notes.

This expression was bottled on January 29, 2014, at 50% ABV, with no added coloring and no chill filtration. A special Arran single malt that combines the distillery's fresh character with the rich, fruity influence of Amarone wine casks.
