Compass Box Vellichor (2022)

Compass Box Vellichor (2022) is a unique and poetic blended malt, created as an ode to the scent and atmosphere of old bookshops. It's an exceptional composition of rare, long-matured malts from Highland Park, Macallan, and Caol Ila , among others, complemented by older mystery malts from private collections.

The whisky was matured in a mix of sherry casks, refill hogsheads, bourbon casks and a small amount of French oak , resulting in a complex and layered profile with a refined, almost nostalgic style.

Flavor profile:

• Nose: old leather, dust of old books, dried fruit, soft smoke, cocoa and spicy oak.

• Palate: Rich and elegant, with raisins, tobacco, dark chocolate, subtle peat, spicy wood notes and soft sherry sweetness.

• Finish: Long, warm and complex, with a mix of smoke, cocoa and old oak nuances.
