This 27-year-old Glendronach from the renowned Batch 16 series is a textbook example of the deep, sweet sherry style for which the distillery is so beloved. Matured in a rich Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon, this single cask produces a whisky of exceptional depth and syrupy intensity.
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark raisins, treacle, old leather notes, rich plums, roasted nuts and a hint of mocha.
Palate: Full and oily. Strong PX influences with dark chocolate, fig jam, dates, burnt sugar, spices, and a subtle woody texture.
Finish: Long, warming, with sherry syrup, plums and soft spices that linger.
Style & Character
This is a powerful, intense sherry bomb, perfect for fans of Glendronach's dark, old PX maturations. Batch 16 is considered by connoisseurs to be one of the stronger PX releases.
