Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt – Cask Strength ( 2019 )
Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt – Cask Strength
Batch No. 52 – bottled August 2019
This Amrut Peated Cask Strength is a powerful and characterful single malt from India, made from peated barley and bottled at cask strength (62.8% ABV) . Amrut is one of the pioneers of modern Indian whisky and enjoys worldwide respect for its quality, maturity, and distinctive style.
The whisky was not chill-filtered and bottled in its natural color , straight from the cask. The warm Indian climate allows for intense and rapid maturation, resulting in a remarkably rich and concentrated flavor.
Flavor profile
Smoke and peat are the main features, beautifully supported by notes of malt, spice, toasted wood, and a slightly sweet undertone. The high alcohol demands attention, but with a drop of water, the whisky opens up beautifully and reveals its complexity.
