Arran 2001 Premium Cask – The Nectar – 22 Years Old – 54.7% – 70 cl
The Arran 2001 Premium Cask is an exclusive, 22-year-old Scotch single malt whisky, specially selected and bottled for the Belgian whisky importer The Nectar. This exceptional single cask bottling comes from the Arran distillery on the Scottish island of Arran and is part of the prestigious Premium Cask series.
The whisky was distilled on May 28, 2001, and bottled on August 3, 2023, after more than 22 years of maturation in an ex-bourbon cask. This long maturation results in a refined and elegant character, in which Arran's fruity distillery character blends with the soft influences of American oak.
On the nose, aromas of creamy vanilla, honey, pineapple, and grapefruit emerge, complemented by subtle notes of matured oak. The palate is full and silky smooth, with hints of tropical fruit, vanilla, light spices, and an elegant wood influence. The finish is warming, with a combination of citrus, soft oak, and refined spiciness.
This whisky was bottled at a cask strength of 54.7% alcohol, with no added coloring and non-chill filtered.
Only 125 bottles were produced from cask number 2001/009. A rare and exclusive Arran bottling that combines over two decades of maturation with the authentic character of a carefully selected bourbon cask.
