Blackadder Linkwood 12 Year Old Raw Cask – 59.2% (2022)
Blackadder Linkwood 12 Year Old BA – Raw Cask – 59.2%
This Linkwood 2010 is a beautiful example of how elegance and power can perfectly blend within the Blackadder universe. Distilled in September 2010 , matured for 12 years, and bottled in December 2022 , it features a PX sherry finish that adds depth without overpowering the distillery character.
On the nose, this whisky reveals itself refined yet distinct: ripe apple, honey, vanilla, and soft floral notes , followed by dark sherry influences such as raisins, figs, and a touch of cocoa. The high alcohol content ( 59.2% ) carries the aroma without dominating it.
The palate is full, creamy, and layered . Typical Linkwood smoothness—elegantly malty and lightly floral—is enhanced by the PX finish, which provides a warm core of dried fruit, nuts, and spicy wood notes. The texture is oily, almost syrupy. With a few drops of water, it opens up further, revealing additional balance and finesse. The finish is long, gently spicy, and beautifully rounded.
As always with Blackadder, this bottling is unfiltered and uncoloured , with visible cask residue as a sign of its Raw Cask philosophy: whisky as it was meant to be, straight from the cask.
