This Caol Ila 10 Year Old was bottled by Cadenhead's as part of their Original Collection and matured entirely in 100% first-fill bourbon casks . A classic Islay malt, but stripped of all its marketing layers: pure, transparent, and properly bottled.

The nose opens fresh and maritime with smoke, citrus zest, wet stone, and a hint of vanilla . The smoke is clearly present but never overpowering. The palate offers a lovely balance of salty smoke, lemon, apple, soft sweetness, and light oak . The 46% alcohol content provides just the right amount of body without becoming aggressive. The finish is medium to long, with ash, citrus, and a dry, mineral note .

This is Caol Ila as it was meant to be : clear, clean, and functional. No sherry experiments or over-extraction, just a pure Islay for both beginners and experienced connoisseurs . Typical Cadenhead: quality over ostentation.
