Glendronach 1993 Cask 6865 28 Year Old 52.8% (2021)
Glendronach 1993 – Cask Bottling Batch 19 (28 years, PX Puncheon, 52.8%)
This exceptional 1993 Glendronach is a textbook example of how deep, dark and layered a nearly 30-year PX maturation can become. The whisky was matured for 28 years in a Pedro Ximénez Puncheon (cask 6865) and was bottled in 2021 at natural cask strength.
Flavor profile
Nose: Dark raisins, figs, old oak, balsamic sweetness and a hint of espresso.
Palate: Thick, syrupy sherry, chocolate fondant, plum compote, tobacco, leather and a warm PX spiciness that opens up for a long time.
Finish: Very long, sweet-dry with mocha, raisins, dark honey and antique wood.
A bottle for lovers of heavily sherried whisky with real age – luxurious, intense and perfectly balanced.
