Glendronach 2007 – Cask Bottling Batch 17 (12 Years | Pedro Ximénez Puncheon | 60.9%)

This Glendronach 2007 is a powerful, clean single cask release, matured entirely in a Pedro Ximénez puncheon . That means deep sweetness, raisins, chocolate, and a fatty texture — exactly what Glendronach lovers are looking for.
At 60.9% this is a real sherry bomb with a distinct, rich style.

Flavor profile

  • Nose: Dark raisins, plums, warm caramel, dark chocolate, soft spices.

  • Palate: Syrupy and intense. Rich PX sherry, figs, mocha, cloves, dark wood, and a hint of orange zest.

  • Finish: Long, warming, sweet and slightly spicy — typical of a strong Glendronach PX.

For customers who like this style (deep PX sherry, high intensity), similar to:

  • BenRiach Cask Strength PX batches – similar in intensity and fruity sherry sweetness.

  • GlenAllachie Cask Strength Batch 4/5 – robust, dark sweet, thick texture.

  • Aberlour A'Bunadh – a sherry-driven powerhouse, but slightly spicier and less syrupy than Glendronach.

Investment potential

  • Batch 17 is no longer in production and PX punches are always in demand.

  • Glendronach single casks average 5–12% annual aging , depending on the batch.

  • The 2007 batches are sought after as they were the last years before the major style changes at the distillery .
