Highland Park Valknut (2018)

Highland Park Valknut (2018) is the second release in the Viking Legend trilogy and was bottled at 46.8% ABV . This whisky was created as a tribute to Norse mythology and the symbolism of the Valknut —the mark of fallen warriors.

Valknut contains a higher proportion of barley dried with heather peat , resulting in a fuller, smoky style than standard Highland Park. The whisky is matured in American sherry-seasoned oak casks , beautifully complementing the characteristic Orkney smoke with layers of sweet and spicy notes.

Flavor profile:

• Nose: honey, heather, soft smoke, cloves, orange peel and vanilla.

• Palate: Rich and full, with sweet peat, roasted malt, dark spices, toffee, nuts and a hint of citrus.

• Finish: long, warm spicy, slightly smoky and elegantly sweet.
